Coconut oil penetrates into hair and delivers triglycerides that strengthen it.

THE RESEARCH DETAIL

LC-MS analysis identified triglycerides in coconut oil; differential extraction and NanoSIMS imaging showed these lipids penetrate the hair shaft and localize inside fibers. Fatigue strength testing under constant stress demonstrated measurable strength improvements from oil treatment.

I have thin straight hair and a lot of oils are too heavy for me. Argan is great but almond or grape seed oil work just as good for me and are cheaper. Castor oil is weirdly sticky. Avocado only occasionally. Olive and coconut aren't good for me at all.

Rosemary and argan oil blend, massaged into scalp and left for a few hours. Coconut oil is a scam

Love that you’re keeping it simple. I’ve had the best luck with a few drops of argan or jojoba on damp ends. Coconut works for me as a pre wash, but too much gets heavy fast. Also, clarifying once in a while makes a big difference.
