I preach this so often people must think I work for Big Peppermint. I find it so helpful for IBS issues. From what I read it relaxes your organs so if your colon is spasm causing diarrhea then it will help it relax. That's why it will also help constipation. I grow 4 types of mint in containers because I love it so much

Peppermint is a mild gut "paralytic," so it's great at slowing things down in IBS-D, but that same effect in IBS-C tends to just make things worse.
