Rosewater can be irritating. However, The Ordinary Glycolic Toner is not irritating **at all**. I think maybe the rosewater contained doesn't have as many fragrance components. Paula's Choice/Beautypedia is not the end all be all skincare authority. They contradict themselves all the time. And frequently present straight up inaccurate information. Labmuffin has talked about this.

"Maybe your skin isn't allergic to it today, but keep using it and you'll end up with a sensitivity or allergy." To be honest that was my motivation to write the post. I didn't choose the Ordinary AHA toner **because** it had rosewater, rather I chose because it is (1) very fairly priced for my budget (2) at a lower percentage of AHA than what I usually see, and (3) I liked the product when I started using it. (I'm pretty sure the glycerin and sugars help with its plumping qualities but there is something special about it as opposed to other AHAs I've used in the past and/or lactic acid.

Honestly, there are lots of low-percentage glycolic acid products out there to pick from, without something potentially problematic like rosewater. Because it's combined with an AHA, it can penetrate further into the skin and be more likely to trigger an immune reaction.
