After just 1 week of using Urea 40 % cream Daily and using a AHA BHA shower gel my kp is 95 % gone. I had stubborn KP for years. I tried Cerave SA lotion w 10 % urea for rough and bumpy skin to be useless - same with Amlactin. Too harsh acids make kp worse and a low dose below 20 % urea does absolutely nothing to stubborn kp. It also helped to not physically exfoliate and not shave because it irritates the kp and makes it worse. I invested in laser hair removal which I think helps the situation.

Didn’t do anything for me, but nothing really does. I finished the tub. I know it works well for a lot of other people!

As others have mentioned, if it’s your first time using a keratolytic on your KP, there is a period of time where you’ll need to build up tolerance and you may experience purging as the keratin plugs/scale begin to separate. However- urea is also a humectant that draws water to the skin. Depending on your skin type, urea can sometimes make your skin feel tacky or raw, which can cause increased irritation. If this happens, then it’s best to explore other keratolytic topicals like lactic or glycolic acid. Percentages also matter too, lower percentages are best when you’re first starting out.
